Debbie’s Story: What W.E.I.G.H.T. Means to Me and How I Lost 115.7lbs!

For over 20 years, I struggled with my weight. It wasn’t something that happened overnight but gradually. Family gatherings, reunions, celebrations…a time for eating and rejoicing and other times – eating to deal with the pain of losing loved ones. I had become borderline diabetic with high blood pressure and suffered from asthma. I would find a “diet” program, lose 10% of my body weight, hit a plateau, give up, and regain it all back.  I worked out at the gym 5xs a week and swam laps for an hour straight but with all that exercise my weight wouldn’t budge!  I felt like there was no hope for me.

Lack of hope is a pretty isolating and scary feeling. There is a part of you that feels ashamed – like, “What is wrong with me?” but I knew that with motivation and the right program, I could lose the weight. As I sat on my couch and watched TV with my family, Living 808 came on with a special about OSR Weight Management and the Ideal Protein Protocol. At this point in my life, I was willing to try anything to lose my weight – so I made the phone call to learn more and finally became a patient. That was January of 2016 and after 9 months of hard work, motivation from my Health Coach and support from loved ones – I LOST 115.LBS. I could finally say, “I DID IT!!” and know that my journey meant that anything is possible and giving up isn’t an option. WEIGHT can be a scary topic for some people to talk about which is why I came up with the true meaning of WEIGHT.

W:  When you are ready

E:    Everything will fall into place

I:     Ignite your flame from within a

G:    Gift that never dies

H:   Hold on to that vision

T:    Till you reach your goal

If you are struggling with losing weight (but feel stuck), you lack hope (just like I did) or want to make the change but don’t know how – MAKE the call to OSR Weight Management. It not only changed my life but gave me a deep purpose to help others! You can find me at the Honolulu office, inspiring patients to lose weight, and become the best version of themselves. In addition, I always let patients know that not only is the program great for you but your family members as well.

One of the worst things you can get is a phone call regarding a friend or relative in Intensive Care. There’s a moment of silence in your head as you hear the words “It doesn’t look good” and then the emotions run. Questions like, “Was there something I could have done? If I could only push back time!”. It might take time to realize that all the “Ifs” in the world do not bring back loved ones. Life is a precious and sacred thing but also might be abused when we don’t cultivate a healthy lifestyle for both ourselves and friends or family members. I saw this with loved ones I lost but also realized that if I did not change my eating habits and find the Ideal Protein Protocol, I could have been someone in Intensive Care.

I am proud to be a part of OSR Weight Management Team and my mission is to help one dieter at a time. Below you will find a video that my daughter created regarding my journey!

Never give up,  Keep your eye on the prize,  Stay positive,  We will get there together!!
